Abstract
Let $R$ be a prime ring and $L$ a non-central Lie ideal of $R$. The main purpose of this paper is to describe generalized derivations of $R$ satisfying some algebraic identities on $L$. Moreover, using a topological approach based on Baire’s category theorem and some properties of functional analysis, our results have been extended to Banach algebras.
